DD National channel, the only channel in India being simultaneously C-band up-link to two satellites; Out of two satellites, first one (satellite) have been covered only in India.
Second one is covered India as well as more than 100 countries.

Whenever live telecast (simulcast like sports like cricket, Olympic on DD & private channels) is being aired only on first one (satellite), during live telecast on DD National, Second one (satellite) is being used for repeat telecast.

For all Indian Distributing platforms like Cable and DTH operators only allowed to downlink only first one (satellite) for DD National.

Fourth Umpire will be hosted by Dr. Narottam Puri & it also includes Anjum Chopra, ex India women's cricket captain. Sometimes, Aakash Chopra, Nayan Mongia, Vijay Dahiya, Raman Bhanot are also a part of this show. What's interesting DD-National also has its special Hindi commentary all through out the match. What else you people want ? Test Matches are not a priority of Doordarshan to be specific Prasar Bharati. But even the DD -Direct subcribers could have listened to live running ball by ball commentary of the test series on FM Gold. FM Gold a part of DD -Direct bouquet. Is it not ?
