Talking about chances. There is more chances of Chotta Bheem episode of him fighting TunTun Mausi than customers happily paying ₹100 combines for 4 big GECs. Add the secondary GECs. It becomes ₹140. On top of ₹153. We talked a lot of under the table deals before NTO. Right now only relief broadcaster can get is from under the table deals where they convince DPO's to charge way less than listed inflated price for having a balanced pack.

Nobody cares except a very few people about their TV bill. Who got enough knowledge and time to sit and select each channel carefully. Most people just select a package and pay for it so a boycott is joke even if one Cricket channel is priced at Rs 75, it will still be subscribed. Thing with removing channels from free dish was different, it backfired because free and paid users can't be treated in same way.

You are wrong buddy....majority of audience is price conciuous or cannot afford a high tv bill. This is not a situation where bouquet costs less and a-la-carte...here every way cost will go up and operators will upfront disclose reason

Anyways if broadcasters r planning to keep chs out of bouquet and standalone price same as now then i won't b surprised if subscription shrunk, more channels face losses and more viewers go the online way as Jio, Airtel r expanding broadband coverage. Broadcasters need to align with what is right for all stakeholders rather than seeking opportunities to earn max profit

Big Thank You to TRAI for such a difficult, long fight they went thru so that subscribers get benefits in long run

Let's be practical here. DDF totally have 35k people... Let's say we all collectively boycott all the channels (most of us may not be using them at all, what are the odds of people subscribed to all channels, fairly slim ). Even if we considered that there are only 1 crore connections our boycotting won't even cause a dent... And for a very good reason we all know there are more than 1 crore connections overall in India.... Hope that explains

Arre anna, DDF cannot b treated as a sample size to estimate effects of such move and i agree but ur 2nd point is incorrect as majority of population will not opt for high priced channels and hence there will major fall in ratings or revenue. Free Dish, OTT will gain

OTT is good for join family. Like 4000 per year for 4 different OTT. 12000 a year for unlimited good speed internet for seamless viewing. Paying 16000 a year and paying 6000 a year has difference. Netflix and PrimeVideos subscription separate.
Let's if had joined family 200 per month per person plan will be converted to 149 per month as less internet unlimited calling saving 50 per month per person on mobile. 500 saving from per TV too.

Airtel provides Rs. 499 monthly plan with unlimited data and 40 mbps speed, additionally they also give 1 yr free Hotstar, Amazon Prime video membership...also these days easy to find discounted or free access to OTT and pay yearly for internet so overall there won't b any diff in what u were paying for tv bill with lot more convenience, content and enhanced viewing experience

Look bro. Nowadays people have wired internet for working from home and studies. Broadband is like paying for telephone and electricity. To them ₹153 is the extra charge they pay for DTH. You don't need Netflix and Prime. You can subscribe to something basic like Hotstar VIP and get lots of content for entertainment . There are even lots of affordable OTT bundled provided by broadband providers themselves which offers almost all OTTs.

Yes, cable or dth is separate while internet is a necessity whether using for official or personal surfing...it cannot b combined as bundled cost for entertainment exclusive reason

Are you seriously that naive...? You are assuming that everyone knows how to add and remove the channels... Do you know how much of the rural population still depends on the third parties shops and dealers for recharges and for subscribing the channels... Do you think they will have any idea what's going on with the TRAI or IBF...? The Short answer is no... They just want to enjoy the channels they want and they will do that by giving up other smaller channels.... I was merely giving DDF as an example in the other post, I think you are taking DDF as a sampling environment... Nothing here translates to real world environment..
