Are you seriously that naive...? You are assuming that everyone knows how to add and remove the channels... Do you know how much of the rural population still depends on the third parties shops and dealers for recharges and for subscribing the channels... Do you think they will have any idea what's going on with the TRAI or IBF...? The Short answer is no... They just want to enjoy the channels they want and they will do that by giving up other smaller channels.... I was merely giving DDF as an example in the other post, I think you are taking DDF as a sampling environment... Nothing here translates to real world environment..

My starting line itself said that DDF cannot b treated as sample size and i know rural or even semi urban audience depend on 3rd party for recharge or channel activation but whole point is that they will not take most of the chs at high price and rather than taking few channels at higher cost than earlier they will happy chose free dish or internet. I m not naive but simply realistic

If people are naive. TRAI failed. They are airing ads to create awareness. DPO's also publish rates on the UI. Rural users are more price conscious. Remember they got almost all channels for ₹200. Now the price have doubled. They should be more aware about rhe regulations than ever.

Not only in Rural area, in city most educated people also doesn't like to select the individual channels, they go for bundle pack wasting all those money for not required channels.

I May Need To Agree With You Bro!

60% - 70% Of The Customers Needs 3rd Party / Dealer / CC Assistance To Add Aa-La-Karte Channels

Regarding Recharge Maximum 40% Customers Contacts Technicians

This Is Clear Ground Feedback Of TN

This is really unpractical and why they are making big issue. For example anyone can get voot select for whole year after applying promo code for 209 rs which means only 17 rs per month or so, where one can watch so much content and whereas on other hand, we can watch only Colors HD/SD in 22 rs on DTH. So it is time to think for volumes and not ARPU. DTH will be at loss further.

Buddy.. U said majority will not opt for higher priced channels, I have said in my reply they will opt for those by sacrificing the smaller channels or some others.. Thats the point here..

Secondly, @iDJ bro you have to understand what others are saying first before replying to them.. I'm asking @dino29 bro that is he that naive assuming that majority of the populations know how to add or remove channels and not saying people are navie.. Both have a difference of day and night...

Do you remember the awareness ads what they say, they ask the people to check with your DTH or LCO operator, not how to do them on apps...

Here we customers r talking about ourselves
What will be dth's stand on this decision of broadcaster ?
Somewhere will they incur loss?

During NTO 1 implementation, one of my friend's dad called DTH guy and gave preferences. DTH tech tried to give a pack containing all the required channels with maximum amount possible and the subscription rate increased from 200 to 450. They agreed and it was like that for 2-3 months. At one of the functions, I spoke to him about the same and analyzed the pack vs requirement and confirmed that they could have saved atleast 120 per month. This is the situation at many households. These rules are not benefitting anyone but the companies.

Also there were atleast 10-15 household in my relatives and neighbours where I advocated DIsh TV for FTA Bharat pack + HD Addon to get all HD channels in a very less price. That was the golden era. Almost everyone switched off DIsh TV After NTO as the same subscription were taking more than 500
