Norway-based Opera Software is looking at partnership opportunities with set top box manufacturers in India, which will allow DTH, IPTV and cable subscribers to access the internet via their TVs.
Opera Software sales director Sunil Kamath said: "It is a good time to get into this area… We would look at partnering someone like Huawei to build our browser onto their platform."
The company sees big opportunities as India's cable digitisation means that every cable TV household will need a new STB by 2014 in order to access channels.
Kamath added: "India is a strategic market for us. We support 14 Indian languages and we are confident that we will continue to see the strong growth that we have seen in the past few months."
