Protect your STB Receiver from Thunderstorm/Lightning

Anybody please explain how will lightning surge pass through LNB -COAXIAL CABLE-STB??

I never remove STB input from LNB.what about others in DDF??

Is it mandatory??
 
I have been using d2h for 2.5 years.

No lightning problem yet on STB.

But there is heavy lightning in our area.

bro,power cable no issue,just remove the signal cable only
