MUMBAI: Romedy Now has augmented its content lineup with a new series called ‘Cristela’. The series airs Monday –Friday at 7 pm.
It is about Cristela “Cris” Hernandez, a sassy and witty aspiring attorney who lives with her sister and brother-in-law.
The series stars Cristela Alonzo, a stand-up comedian who has not only created the show but has also produced, narrated and plays the lead role as well. Her character, ‘Cristela’, always sees the positive side of any situation.
Regardless of her state, be it the pressures of work or home or an identity crisis through it all, she’s always happy, laughing it off and seeing everything in the sunny side of life.
On the film front this month, Romedy Now will air movies like ‘Les Miserables’, ‘Rachel Getting Married’, ‘Julie and Julia’ and ‘Blue Crush 2′. New blocks have been created.
On Saturdays, at 7 pm, there will be a block called ‘Everlasting Romedies’ featuring movies like ‘The Lake House’, ‘City of Angels’ and ‘Notting Hill’.
The Romedy of the month is ‘Definitely, Maybe’. This will air on 25 April at 9 pm.
Will Hayes (Ryan Reynolds) recollects his hilarious romances with three different women, changing their names so that his daughter Maya (Abigail Breslin) may guess which one of them is her mother.
This twisted narration of his love story is directed by Adam Brooks. For women, there is the property ‘Sweet Nothings’.
This will have movies like ‘Juno’, ‘Notting Hill’, ‘Leap Year’, ‘Heartbreaker’ and ‘PS I Love You’. These will air Monday – Friday at 1 pm.
To end the month, Romedy Now will add another series ‘Mike and Molly’.
Kicking off on 27 April, the series will talk about life which is more fun if one can laugh at oneself. It will air Monday-Friday at 8:30 pm
