Even lesser than CNBC TV18 Prime? There is a reason these channels exist. It caters to a specific niche audience. If Satellite TV were to just cater to mass audience. Most channels wouldn't exist.

I strongly condemn this move. (Kadi ninda). Romedy Now HD has its own set of subscribers who now have to find other ways to watch the content
Yes...I can agree, but even if their are some selected customers for their contents then also broadcasters will only look for profit, which they won't get due to less viewership.

They can still cater their content lovers by showing those contents in their other running same category channels during selected days of a week instead of repeating others. This way they can shut down their channel and those customers of Romedy NOW HD also might not be affected.

How difficult would it be for Times Group to add some more sitcoms and romance. shows and make Romedy Now a GEC with movies on weekends? Only thing a GEC will do is make Times bouquet more attractive to viewers. This could give good competition to #1 English GEC Comedy Central.

CNBC TV18 Prime HD Was Supposed To Shut Down Last Year!

Very Soon That Also Going To Shut Down Bro!

Romedy Now HD would be the lone idle BCCL license if it shutdowns given ET Now Swadesh and Times Now Navbharat (HD) renaming.

With the booming of OTT, English GEC and movie channels makes no sense. They don't have anything exclusive. All these channels can be discontinued.

Romedy Now originally had an upscaled HD feed called Romedy Now+ in 2013–14 which was closed soon thereafter. Later in 2016 Romedy Now HD was launched.

Actually both Movies Now and Romedy Now started as HD only channels, SD customers got its downscaled version. Later Movies Now launched separate sd feed and HD was original replaced with MN+, alongside Movies Now HD was launched on diff slot which DTH Platforms added soon enough. Romedy Now SD feed was launched in 2014 and in 2016 Romedy Now+ was renamed Romedy Now HD
