Discussion Satellite rights of Hindi movies

VVC and Tseries is difficult since VVC Bond is getting stronger. VVC Films are the only major studio besides T- Series which has been strong for them

If a long standing deep bond like YRF - Sony can fall apart then there is possibility that others too can shift. I am quite certain T Series will move to star/disney, Krrish series might shift to star or zee depending on who has satellite rights ownership ( Filmkraft or YRF). VVC can or cannot shift

Sony did not have the money for YRF bro. It was an amicable breakup. YRF is a high maintainence studio so renewal for DDLJ and other films would have been cost 4 - 5 crores or 10 - 12 crores. So yes it was an amicable breakup rather than a nasty breakup

I am not saying that there was a bitter fight between them, ofcourse money matters took centerstage and they amicably sepatated but all these 2 decades sony- YRF managed to forge a relationship where money seemed 2ndary and bond was foremost .... As i have said that there were even articles which said that for many yrs there was no formal agreement between them but the bond made the relationship grow.
Yes YRF films r costly but if sony managed to acquire them for so long then right now with much better profits this could have continued....what I understand happened is that many YRF movies were not getting proper airtime on sony chs and TOH disaster made sony also rethink acquisition strategy thus monetary angle came to forefront which till now never seemed key factor
