Discussion Satellite Rights of Animated Movies & Kids Shows

Although there are other threads which are focusing on updates of new kids movies or shows updates , there are no threads to discuss regarding satellite rights of Animated movies and kids/Animated shows which are also aired several GEC and movie channels along with kids channels in India.

Its slightly confusing why tv channel decide to air good kids movies in select channels when they have their own kids channels, even Gec channel sometime share airing rights . several good Animated movies are aired at randomly at odd timings in movie channels and GEC channel including kids shows. some of other Indian language channels .

In this thread would be used to post regarding Satellite rights of Animated movies & shows (animated/Kids anime/cartoon) and kids shows (including Animated shows), so that we would get overall idea which channel has satellite rights of which animated movie library. they suddenly decide to air shows on their HD channel counterpart

Pokemon - kids Anime series & movies rights earlier from 2003 till 2013/2014 were with Turner India (CN india - Cartoon Network India , last new show they aired was of pokemon black and white and repeat showed DP series again in pogo tv in 2010 or 2011 then afterwards stopped airing it properly. ( CN used to air pokemon in English, Hindi, tamil & telugu)

from 2014/2015 till now pokemon series & movies rights are with Disney India - aired in Marvel HQ mostly and once in a while in Hungama tv compared to earlier. (Disney only airs in Hindi, Tamil & Telugu), few year back tried to air only in english dub in Disney International HD for some weeks.

Digimon movies and series earlier rights were with Turner (CN India) from 2004 till 2012 CN aired one new series at weekends one last time at 2010/2011 , from 2012 Disney bought Digimon new series and aired digimon xros war fr few years with censor at same time in both channel hungama tv and disney XD (now marvel HQ) later started airing in early morning then stopped.

in between before it CN india used to share broadcasting rights of digimon series with CN as few people saw digimon also in disney XD during 2005-2006 which i didnt at that time. befo

As Hungama tv managed to get more ratings after airing pokemon first time in 2015 after many years may be this prompted Nick to air Digimon Tri in its sonic channel in 2018 - sonic nick aired first or two digimon tri movies on fridays then suddenly stopped may be due to pressure from other indian animated studios though their popular show ninja hattori being kids anime series was becoming popular doesnt make sense for them to to not air in sd channel. after protest and contact in their social media handle they aired remaining tri movies except last which wasn't released that time- they aired Digimon Tri movie with edit on nick hd+ in hindi .and repeated to show movies in nick hd + for few weeks then stopped.

I hope nick would atleast dub last digimon tri movie or other channel buys satellite rights of it along with other previous movies.

I've lost all hope from Turner in this. From creating a revolution in kids channels to being a puppet in the hands of Green Gold is surely a state of worry.

Kids are crazy about Pokémon and till last Marvel HQ used to telecast movies. Do they still air it?

Also anime movies are getting released in Indian theatres. Also Muse is planning to launch Muse India soon (Anime with Hindi Subtitles)..

Censorship maybe big issue now. Even Animax was forced to air mature animes only at night, while at day they were forced to repeat Naruto, Slice of Life animes, LBX and kiddie animes repeats all day.. Airing good shows at night...

Even USA don't have anime on TV, they telecast Shinchan, Pokemon, Astro boy etc only in day.. Yep we have Adult Swim who airs anime but that is on weekends at late night... Even in Japan, animes are aired at late night only.. Most anime fans prefers VOD services only since there is no censorship or cuts made by TV Channels...

Green gold may be only after 2008 end when they managed to get more airing time on pogo tv , bheem series started in 2008 in sunday when shinchan was banned suddenly in 2008 - this news of it becoming banned i got to know few years back .

I dont think its right to put all fault on the ban entirely - as by next year in 2009 i remeber i watched Shinchan for first time in hungama tv beore that i couldnt watch it as used to watch cn or channel was not there in my cable in between. only had for 1 or 2 years when in 2004 to 2006 starting. then shifted place.

in new place there was not hungama tv in cable they added between 2007- 2008 late that time was more fascinated with cn , only friends watched shinchan . later when channel was there i started watching kiteretsu it became popular , they even started some live action kids show indian it was average type , Ninjaboy Rantaro & kiteretsu anime series were geting slowly popular diue to its dubbing butta gorilla name caling its funny opening theme song and doraemon episodes were started airing ore often

if i remember now Shinchan's popularity must be one of the main reason behind Pogo tv to start airing Hagemaru - small kids anime series focused on family comedy targetting shinchan audience even nick india durig that time or ending started airing Chibi maruko chan - of small kid girl anime series focusing on comedy of her and her daddu.

even disney XD - started airing Dennis the menace old animated series of comedy show which didnt help to gathter more audience later they started airing new dennis menace reboot animated series even didnt show same magic.

surprising thing - thanks to channels efforts and mainly due to shinchans popukarity among kids and their protest and requests for it channel fought for it and managed to remove ban on shinchan in few months but with caveat to censor not appropiate scene - which they definteky did properly in 2009 march they started airing censored ep of shinchan retainig its opening theme song . while wathing didnt notice difference though felt few eps were very short.

so indirectly shinchan made other channel to improve their programmings atleast for shortwhile for some years till 2012
