This movie is one of the cult classic. Why is it always given post midnight slot?

This movie might shift to sony/zee soon thru Goldmines, there it is likely to get prime slots. Actually it is about ratings. Many good films like Hum Tum, Saathiya, Fanaa, New York, Salaam Namastay, Namastay London, Fan, Baabul, Kabhi Kabhi Naa, Swades, Deewane Huye Paagal, Rsng De Basanti, Rehna Hai Terre Dil Mein, Delhi - 6 etc. do not get aired at prime slots on flagship SD or HD chs (if they simulcast content) bcoz of same though these get space on network's niche channels be it HD Feed of flagship channel incase it has different scheduling from its SD feed or on dedicated channels for offbeat or critically acclaimed films. These films air on prime slots across main chs once it is about to expire from the network or sometimes then too it remains restricted to niche chs. Sony is the only one to not have a niche channel to air such movies

Not included classic films in list as their ratings cannot b compared to post 90s films and therefore for them broadcasters have a different business model where content acquisition cost is quite low and revenue is also somewhat low as compared to main chs , in both cases channels manage to remain profitable in different ways. Though I m disappointed that Sony is not airing so many good classic films which r part of its library

Some more films which fall in above category - Yess Boss, Josh, Tum Bin, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Lakshya, Gangster, Kalyug, The Killer, Awaraapan, Jannat (2008), Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Fida (2004), Ishk Vishk Style (2001) and many more

B4U airs some of these films on its channels as part of syndication deal with zee and star/disney

So Goldmines has started shifting its film library to its own channels. Will Pen Studio do same? BFlix is their channel. Also at present too much of the dubbed film library of zee airing on B4U Kadak so exclusivity factor is lost. Sony / Zee needs to have more bollywood content on Sony Max or Zee Cinema to compete with rivals

Usually, Viacom18 airs this movie on all possible slots. Sometimes, it is aired during morning and afternoon and sometimes during evening prime slot on Colors Cineplex SD and HD. Even CCB plays this movie during morning and afternoon slots.
