SITI Cable Network Limited believes that digitization provides an opportunity to build the business based on transparency at the same time servicing the customers using latest technology. The company has encashed on the life time opportunity by timely implementation of digitization in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata market & has announced having achieved over 1.2 million digital Cable TV customer base in three markets of Phase-1 cities of DAS (Digital Addressable System).
There is sharp rise in Set-top-Box (STB) penetration in last 15 to 20 days in its three markets of Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai. The company has expected multifold increase in STB penetration due to digitization deadline of phase-1 cities.
Commenting on the landmark achievement, Mr. Anil Malhotra, Chief Operating Officer, SITI Cable Network Ltd said: "We are delighted and thank over 1.2 million SITI digital cable TV customers who helped us in achieving this landmark. We also owe this achievement to our cable operators who have bestowed confidence in us. SITI Cable pioneered the digital cable in India and since then we have been the frontrunner of digital cable tv innovations in the country. Now we aim to achieve the next 1.3 million customers very soon."
The company has set an ambitious target to acquire 2.5 million customer of phase-1 cites on its digital platform in the whole of FY13. The company is targeting the multiple TV homes connection and is expanding its network in other strategic areas, which were not correctly estimated by the industry. The company has done well so far & will continue to acquire subscriber as few national MSO's & the Independent operators, who have not scaled their digital infrastructure & investment, have offered the opportunity for SITI Cable to enhance its market share further.
SITI Cable has built up ample of STB stock which has helped in scaling the subscriber base & enhancing the market share. The management is gearing up for the opportunity being offered in phase 2 & 3 of DAS. The digital infrastructure built up for these cities is in advance stage of planning.
To facilitate the consumer an economical migration to digital cable TV, the company is offering the STB at a subsidized rate of Rs.699 as one time activation charges. The STB Seeding done by the company is under the paid scheme and the payments were realized on upfront basis. Monthly billing to subscriber will start from 1st Nov 2012, from the date of DAS implementation.
