This is just imagination . If they wanted sony rox to continue , then they would have never killed that brand . Afterall building brand is not easy . And killing existing brand and also reviving it much harder . Atleast incase of tv channels that never happens. They don't even bring their old logos back , then bringing channel back with same name is next to impossible .

One possibility is that they may launch new music channel with new name , but not near future due to this TRAI mess

After disney getting full control of Star it will be interesting to see if Sony would want to continue a JV (sony espn) with their competitor.
I think No, JV can be ended even before the original term in special cases like this one.

IMO Sony-espn deal breaks within 2020.May Sony wants espn in their kitty but after acquisition of Star, Disney gets about 15 sports channels in India all of a sudden. So the need for espn becomes invalid. Either they can withdraw it from India or retain along with Star just keeping a brand presence. Anyway JV with Sony is doubtful after acquiring Star.

Disney declared that acquisition will complete in March. Star India chairman had elevated as Disney Asia Pacific president. Even though processing happens regarding the deal, both Disney India and Star India till now moves in their on path as independent companies and no signs about merging. But the truth is they will merge within 2 months. Likewise there is no news about Sony espn deal currently but possible in upcoming months. Every process related to television is now faster unlike earlier. Actually Do anybody think that Fox will be sold out? Disney will have to done many give and takes while acquiring Fox all over the world. So Sony espn becomes a small task.

Simple logic, if this channel was famous or better than other channels then Sony must not be forced to close it. They closed it because there were not many people watching this channel.

It's wrong that people where not watching it, Rox HD was getting almost same ratings as Beats HD & better ratings than English Music channels. It's price was not so high. Airtel was giving it at just ₹20/m. SPN also declared it's MRP at just ₹5.
I think due to absence of SD feed they shutdowned it & as they wanted to launch sports channels so they didn't thought about it even once.

In my opinion, every music channel is illogical and unnecessary. When everyone can access HD music videos, singles, video albums and literally everything shown on music channels for absolutely free on the internet, why would anybody pay to watch them? For watching the anchors who present the shows!?

Those who are able to subscribe HD music channels can obviously access music through internet. So now music channels are needed only for rural areas and must be FTA.
