Everyone here is forgetting the fact that A&E also owns ESPN so its not completely a Disney decision.
Also if ESPN will work jointly with Sony, it means double benefits for Disney one from Star Sports n Another from Sony JV.

Disney has majority stake in espn and left small stake is owned by Hearst communications(A&E you may meant).
Another possibility is if Disney sells stakes in espn to others, then Sony espn may continue. Any way Standing in 2 boats(sony and Star) at a time is not fair.

It's price was not so high. Airtel was giving it at just ₹20/m. SPN also declared it's MRP at just ₹5.
I think due to absence of SD feed they shutdowned it & as they wanted to launch sports channels so they didn't thought about it even once.

@Choco7905 bro It looks simple from front . MTV beats HD is priced at Rs 1 and not available from long on Airtel. The Rs 5 was given by Sony after TRAI order, before this also Sony reiterated that Sony Rox HD was a premium channel.SD feed was already there in form of Sony mix.
