RE: SES-9 launch delayed & moving to March

Bad News again :'(,ADTV has almost utilized all the space and still they need to survive in the market for the next 7 to 8 months, don't know what they are gonna do for next coming months, only thing that I see is either remove crappy channels and make way for good channels but that's again a temporary solution as it's difficult to remove channels frequently and add HD channels, second is lend TP's from somewhere else :(

RE: SES-9 launch delayed & moving to March

Really bad news...somebody slap them for d delay they r doing.

Reg. Adtv space... I think most tp sr wud be increased to 32700.
So that 5-6 HD chnls cud be added.

RE: SpaceX targeting Feb. 24 Falcon 9 launch of SES-9

SpaceX is targeting a Feb. 24 launch of a Falcon 9 rocket and European communications satellite from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

Luxembourg-based SES, the owner of the SES-9 satellite, this morning announced the launch plans, which include a backup opportunity on Feb. 25.

The mission has been delayed since December while SpaceX readies an upgraded version of the Falcon 9 that will be launching for the second time.

"SpaceX is currently completing an extended series of testing and pre-flight validation in advance of the SES-9 launch," SES said in a statement.

The company said an adjustment to the mission profile would enable SES-9, which relies on electric propulsion, to reach its final orbit on the same schedule despite the launch delay.

The launch will be SpaceX's first from the Cape since Dec. 21, a mission remembered best for the booster's successful landing on shore.

This mission will use more fuel to deliver the satellite to a much higher orbit, more than 22,000 miles above the equator. As a result, SpaceX will attempt to land the booster an "autonomous spaceport drone ship," an ocean platform.

The company hasn't landed a booster intact on a drone ship yet in three tries, but came tantalizingly close the last time, during the January launch from California of Jason-3, an international ocean-monitoring mission. One of four landing legs broke, causing the rocket stage to fall over and explode.

RE: SpaceX targeting Feb. 24 Falcon 9 launch of SES-9

"In order to minimise the impact of moving the launch from late last year, SpaceX is supporting a mission modification. The changed mission will reduce the time needed for SES-9 to reach its orbital slot, keeping the Operational Service Date (OSD) in the third quarter of 2016, as previously foreseen. "

So operational date is on schedule despite delay. Which means by September Airtel could be activating SES-9 transponder.

RE: SpaceX targeting Feb. 24 Falcon 9 launch of SES-9

2 month delayed from revised schedule
4 to 6 month was original mission time
It may come down to 2 to 4 months
So approx. May to June shall be operational (as per the plan from Dec-15 launch)
