Sony won't buy any rights here after. They not even went for WI rights, SA rights , NZ rights and other minnows cricket broadcast rights. Sony saving these money and launching channels only to buy IPL rights or BCCI home rights or ICC events.
We need another broadcaster or Eurosport /1 sports has to go all these rights and try to pull some audience in their side rather than wasting the channel space

But they are not going to get any of the rights because star will retain it at any cost.

Uday shankar had stepped down last year. Now I think Star/Disney will bid for IPL /BCCI and ICC tournaments rationally keeping profitability in mind. Although IPL has been profitable for them even after being bid for high price and hit by pandemic last year. This years figures will be out post tournament is over. IPL was the reason for their jump in Hotstar subscribers.
