Raj tv network also available malayalam & telgu channel bro one network all South Indian language covered... & Also have OTT Raj digital tv won the network...
This is what I thought when Zee merger was failing..
Yes Sony Should launch their channels in south on their own
Instead of merger with Zee. Sony should have bought Raj network channels and rebrand it as Sony Regional channels down south!
Those Raj useless channels are available on almost every DTH & Cable TV! Right from the word go, Sony could take advantage with proper program offerings in terms of reach.
1. If Sony buys Raj Network, the major advantage would be the availablity of all the Raj Network channels on major Cable & DTH Platforms. Straight away they can,
2. Rebrand Raj TV as Sony Tamizh, Vissa as Sony Telugu.
3. Rebrand Raj Musix Kannada and Raj Musix Malayalam as GEC for respected markets, Sony Kannada & Sony Malayalam.
4. The 4 Raj News channels license can be converted to respective languages GEC HD channel.
5. Add Kannada & Malayalam feed to the existing Sony Sports Ten 4 HD & SD to cover Cricketing events.
6. Add all the southern language feeds on Sony Sports Ten 1 HD & SD and Ten 2 HD & SD along with English & Hindi Feeds to cover non Cricketing events.
7. Rebrand Raj Musix Tamil & Raj Musix Telugu as Sony Music South HD & SD (Just like SS Music in the 90's, One music channel for all southern languages).. They have enough content & licence for all the four languages on their YouTube channel which can be used on linear platform + old content from Raj Library across languages, if any, would be an added bonus!
8. Hold the Raj Digital Plus license for future expansion into movie segment at a later stage. As main GEC's would be sufficient enough to play movies and soap operas initially.
9. Bundle the packs based on Market.. Like for Telugu market.. Sony Telugu, Sony Music South, Sony Sports Ten 1 (Telugu Feed), Sony Sports Ten 2 (Telugu Feed), Sony Sports Ten 4 (Telugu Feed), Sony Yay (Telugu Feed), Sony BBC Earth (Telugu Feed), Sony Pix (Telugu Feed, if available).
