Zee , Sony, Sun no one can buy Any JioStar channels as per the Rules .
Sony can get a no objection certificate from CCI for a particular market stating there will be no significant increase or change in competition.
Given that they state the facts and support with numbers.

This is what I thought when Zee merger was failing..

1. If Sony buys Raj Network, the major advantage would be the availablity of all the Raj Network channels on major Cable & DTH Platforms. Straight away they can,

2. Rebrand Raj TV as Sony Tamizh, Vissa as Sony Telugu.

3. Rebrand Raj Musix Kannada and Raj Musix Malayalam as GEC for respected markets, Sony Kannada & Sony Malayalam.

4. The 4 Raj News channels license can be converted to respective languages GEC HD channel.

5. Add Kannada & Malayalam feed to the existing Sony Sports Ten 4 HD & SD to cover Cricketing events.

6. Add all the southern language feeds on Sony Sports Ten 1 HD & SD and Ten 2 HD & SD along with English & Hindi Feeds to cover non Cricketing events.

7. Rebrand Raj Musix Tamil & Raj Musix Telugu as Sony Music South HD & SD (Just like SS Music in the 90's, One music channel for all southern languages).. They have enough content & licence for all the four languages on their YouTube channel which can be used on linear platform + old content from Raj Library across languages, if any, would be an added bonus!

8. Hold the Raj Digital Plus license for future expansion into movie segment at a later stage. As main GEC's would be sufficient enough to play movies and soap operas initially.

9. Bundle the packs based on Market.. Like for Telugu market.. Sony Telugu, Sony Music South, Sony Sports Ten 1 (Telugu Feed), Sony Sports Ten 2 (Telugu Feed), Sony Sports Ten 4 (Telugu Feed), Sony Yay (Telugu Feed), Sony BBC Earth (Telugu Feed), Sony Pix (Telugu Feed, if available).
Raj group not buying anyone because worst picture quality in India,,they just running of name sake

I guess it would be small scale merger between Sony and Anand Mahendra's IN10 Media.

Guys Only two options for Sony

Zee and Sun tv network ( if Sun network separates their news channel from this Sun tv network entity ).

Zee network should solve disputes and do merger with Sony.

If they separates news channel then could be possible acquisition of Sun tv network
Sun 🌞 Network's regional south channels like Surya TV is struggling to be stay in the top 5. So if Sun decides to transfer all their channels except Tamil into a new business entity like what ETV did it in the past, it will be a game changer and sony or any other network can easily buy it.

Any merger with a local network is unlikely to bring success to Sony unless it involves Sun or Zee. Other local networks lack a strong foothold, as the South regional markets are dominated by Star, Zee and Sun. These major networks have cultivated loyal audiences, making it extremely difficult for smaller networks to capture that viewership. Acquiring small local networks at this point would be a poor strategic move.

Star made its acquisitions at the right time and nurtured them over the years which is why they now dominate the regional markets. However its too late for Sony to follow a similar path. By the time their channels start topping the charts, linear tv might already be dead. In an era when linear tv is slowly dying, acquiring small local networks is a futile effort. Instead Sony should consider mending its relationship with Zee and negotiating better terms for a potential partnership.

Sun lost to Star & Zee in South except Tamil, So Sony have only option is Zee. If Sony-Zee merger not happen in future, Sony might in trouble to windup linear tv after 3 years.
