Despite odd timings of many matches in recently concluded T20 World Cup thereby leading to some drop in overall viewership of the tournament compared to its last edition still as per media reports Disney-Star has managed to garner 1800 Crore revenue from TV itself and similar is expected to have been generated from steaming of tournament on its OTT platform ...... This is really impressive and apart from immense hardwork put by their team it seems Disney-Star is having great luck too as it had 1st sold the rights of ICC events to zee and post zee backing out they aired this T20 World Cup which proved to be hugely beneficial for them

“The increase in operating loss at Star India was due to higher programming and production costs attributable to the timing of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, a decrease in affiliate revenue due to lower effective rates, and growth in advertising revenue reflecting the timing of the World Cup," Disney said in a statement.

Disney+ Hotstar had 35.5 million paid subscribers at the end of the quarter, compared to 36 million in the previous quarter. The streaming platform's average monthly revenue per paid subscriber rose from $0.70 to $1.05 due to higher advertising revenue

Yes buddy, T20 World Cup and even the ICC Cricket World or even Asia Cup brought in good news for Disney Star....despite all the oddities the revenue + viewership recorded was quite good and it has helped them further give a great boost to its sports business both on Linear and Digital Platforms

Who the hell watches golf? It's one of the most boring sports.

I don't think this should be the takeaway.

🟥Negatives:
🔸Losses: $216 Million ➡️ $314 Million (45% ⬆️)
🔸Subscribers: 36 Million ➡️ 35.5 Million

🟩Positives:
🔸ARPU: $0.70 ➡️ $1.05

Advertising revenue was bound to increase as Disney+ Hotstar was quoting higher ad rates.
