Too complicate experiment after NTO. Earlier this could be tried IPL. Now it's too late. Closest thing we have similar to this is Impact's deal with Discovery and Sony.

It would have been great if the BCCI, ICC and UEFA events had not been sold together as a package but each had been given separately. For example, the ICC ODI World Cup for one channel and the Twenty20 World Cup for another. If this were the case, more channels would be able to stay active in the competition and thus avoid the monopolies of certain companies.

Bhai, NTO has no role to play in making this complicated or not possible. Infact important sports chs r available in broadcaster or DPO bouquet and if need arises other chs can b opted as per choice and dropped anytime.

In India broadcasters itself want to all events/matches of a particular board or competition bcoz it helps to create an attractive product for advertisers. On the other hand even cricket boards want a packaged deal bcoz then we will see less interest for Test Cricket or matches with less strong teams from broadcasters and thereby making it difficult to get right price, packaged deal covers up desired revenue for all such matches

This will drastically reduce the value of the rights, that's why a complete package is put up for tender.
