Star India asks BCCI for Rs 130 crore discount in current deal
The development comes at a time when the BCCI is preparing to sell media rights for the next five-year cycle after the current deal expires in March

In contention between the parties is a six-match white ball series against South Africa which was postponed due to Covid in the beginning of 2020, which would have been third year in the MRA. The matches were played last year - in September and October 2022 -- which would be the last year in the agreement. The BCCI is understood to have billed the fee as per the last year's rate (Rs 78.9) and Star wants the value to be counted as per third year's price (Rs 46.5). At the Apex Council meeting, held virtually, the issue was discussed and a decision was deferred. It is likely the parties will come to an agreement.

Seems star and BCCI will have disagreement with this and hope that next media rights BCCI won't give it star again.
Viacom has high chance , sony also can be strong competitor.
It will again be between Star and Viacom. Sony as usual will be sleeping for the big rights unless they do any agreement with Star

It was also discussed in the meeting that BCCI’s bilateral cricket media-rights holders Disney Star are seeking a discount of over ₹130 crores. Star’s contention is that they are being overcharged for the 6-match limited overs home series against South Africa, held last September-October.

It is clear the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will have to move on from their jersey sponsors Byju’s. In an emergent BCCI Apex Council council meeting held virtually, it was discussed that the ed-tech company wants their contract bank guarantee worth approximately ₹140 crores to be encashed,,

The India vs SriLanka Series is proving to be complete WASHOUT for the official broadcaster Star Sports and Disney+ Hotstar. The 1st T20 was played on Tuesday but the advertisers have completely shunned the series. Star Sports only had 2-3 brands advertising on the series. The IND vs SL LIVE Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar was a complete blank in Match-1. According to sources, Disney Star will lose almost 200 Cr on the series

No one is interested in both NZ and SL series even the viewers also

except DD, all private broadcasters and title sponsors lost huge money to BCCI. now same overpaid Star Sports people in Sports18, nothing will change if they acquire media Rights for 12,000 Cr, then they are continuing legacy of Nimbus/Neo Sports.
