The India vs SriLanka Series is proving to be complete WASHOUT for the official broadcaster Star Sports and Disney+ Hotstar. The 1st T20 was played on Tuesday but the advertisers have completely shunned the series. Star Sports only had 2-3 brands advertising on the series. The IND vs SL LIVE Streaming on Disney+ Hotstar was a complete blank in Match-1. According to sources, Disney Star will lose almost 200 Cr on the series
Yeah 1st match had less ads, but I think you not watched 3rd T20 match.

the issue is over dose of cricket, many senior players missing from the team, every series new players new captain and above all IPL is just around corner many advertisers saving money for advertising in ipl

Seems SS tired with BCCI home matches, as all matches SS has to share to DD and ODI's not impressive after T20 invention.
SS won't bid or won't go for high value for next media rights , also Sony won't pay high amount for BCCI matches,
Chance for Viacom, but getting profit from BCCI matches is unknown / not possible one.

Else DD themselves have to bid for BCCI matches.

Sad BBC needs a big property for revenue boost. Central government needs to help them be profitable again. They can't always rely on taxpayers money.

After 1st and 2nd T20 match, Advertising numbers drastically increased on 3rd match. Let's see how many ads going to air 1st ODI match per over/break.
