Someone here was saying that some great broadcaster gives more importance to niche sports than Cricket.. Well well very much expected that broadcaster is using 8 out of 10 Channels are telecasting cricket over Olympic games when Indian Cricket is available... I hope those people will shread this broadcaster as well as they did with some other broadcasters as well

we say about star showing highlights
and you mentioned about sony live cricket that too india match

** in india it's ovio people preffrer live indian match over other non cricket sports

This is expected when channels are language specific. Said broadcaster tries to imitate stupidest sports broadcaster in the world by introducing language specific channels. Hence, gets caught up in such situations. There is no seperate requirement for Tamil, Telugu and Hindi channels. Good thing is cricket happens every alternate days. Here is only hogging up 3 slots only than also half the airtime will remain free as Olympic events will start at 5 am IST and end at 7 pm IST. It wouldn't take much off air time. Anyhow cricket would be over by 29th July. Meanwhile Sony Ten 1 will not air Olympics as advertised.

Talking about Olympics. Viewership records were broken last time. We were getting lectured about how some "sports channel" was destination for multi sports consumption. Yet, we didn't bid for the rights this time.
