Novi Digital Entertainment, a wholly-
owned subsidiary of Star India, has bagged the
IPL media rights for Rs 302.2 crore (Rs 3.02
billion) from 2015-2017.
The reserve price for the three-year rights was
set at Rs 120 crore (Rs 1.2 billion).
The BCCI had received bids from Times Internet,
Multi Screen Media (MSM) and Novi Digital
Entertainment.
“Our partnership with Novi Digital Entertainment
augurs well for the Pepsi IPL as well as the
millions of fans who follow the tournament and
we are delighted to commence an association
with the organisation whose bid was found to be
the most deserving,” BCCI secretary Sanjay
Patel.
In the previous four-year cycle, a consortium of
Times Internet Ltd (TIL) and Nimbus
Communications had won the rights for Rs 261.6
crore (Rs 2.62 billion).
The BCCI had last month floated a tender for IPL
media rights for 2015, 2016 and 2017 seasons.
The package includes internet and mobile rights
for Indian subcontinent and rest of the world,
besides broadcast rights for certain territories.
