I think CI will continue for few years, then shutdown if needed. No chance they try to bring back SW or any other pre Star owned English channels which has been shutdown. They will let existing channels to run till its yield end. Because viewership of English channels are already less and its shrinking.

But bro Star world does not exist in India only but here in ME Star world still exist so if they want they can relaunch it back....

No bhai, JioStar has a completely different management from Disney MENA and I don’t think Star World will ever come back in India. At least we should be grateful to Viacom18/JioStar that Colors Infinity and Comedy Central haven’t shut down as well.

You might remember that the MENA and APAC feeds of Star World had a newer and more modern logo, which the Indian feed never received until its closure. Similarly Star Movies India has been kept unchanged for nearly 16 years now. While a new logo trademark has been filed, no one knows when it will rebrand.

@amty bhai, you can receive a lot of channels in Dubai that those in India can’t. I can receive a lot of channels in Singapore that those in India can’t. There’s no point trying to compare MENA or APAC offerings with Indian channels. Indian broadcasters will always have a limited portfolio of English channels compared to MENA and APAC countries.

true, all jiostar international channels are now under utsav brand. so if any star branded channel is seen outside india it belongs to Disney and not Jiostar

Colors Infinity and Comedy Central

There are chances that JioStar will take a last punt on these channels, especially Comedy Central, by acquiring new shows and other past shows, as CCI didn't order to shut down Colors Infinity and Comedy Central. JioStar will monitor and track both channels and will make decisions accordingly in future.

First of all, we should accept that the linear TV era is approaching its end day by day. The studios/production companies that have produced and distributed shows to linear TV channels have created their streaming platforms. So linear TVs are facing issues like the cost of maintenance, lack of content, etc. In the future, many TV channels may shut down. It has already happened in the Americas and Europe.
