'STAR Jalsha', a Bengali General Entertainment channel (BGCE) from Star Entertainment Media Pvt Ltd has announced the telecast of two new prime time offerings--Aparajito and Adwitiya.
''Besides the family dramas, we also announce our third year Star Jalsha Entertainment Award 2011,'' said Executive vice-president and General Manager of Entertainment Media Pvt Ltd Ravish Kumar, adding one of its mega productions 'Tapur Tupur' has been shifted to 2030 hours slot.
'Aparajito', is the story of a single father, struggling against all odds to bring up his two children. The show also marks the coming back of Jishu Sengupta on small screen after almost ten years and has the real life couple in Jishu and Nilanjana.
The serial is being produced by Jishu and Nilanjanas company Blue Water Pictures.
In keeping with the changing times, 'Star Jalsha' has also decided to shoot all its shows in High Definition (HD) from July 15 onwards, thus subscribing to a DTH platform, since it does not have one.
Gourav Banerjee, senior vice-president, Star India Pvt Ltd said conversion to HD would definitely lead to superior service so as to break fresh grounds and ensure greater audience satisfaction.
The other one is the second joint venture of Prosenjit Chatterjee with Star Jalsha, after the critically acclaimed Gaaner Oparey. The story is about reverse brain drain of a girl who settles in a village instead of chasing his dream to abroad. The outdoor shooting is done in Sunderbans.
