Multi-cam can be provided through DTH as well. We use to have that on Dish TV during 2007 ICC World Cup rights. Than ICC rights went to outdated broadcaster. Good things disappeared.

Bro,,i think u forgot that SD and HD boxes do not support 4K Resolution.

Also it is an excellent move as Star Sports is trying to lower the churn which may happen in the niche subscriber base who r having 55 inch or above 4K TV Smart TV and would opt for watching IPL on Jio Cinema,, also though those having 50 inch or lower size TV sets though would not notice much difference between Full HD (if aired in good quality with no/lower compression) and 4K streaming but still even they can watch IPL on Star Sports 4K if they have Airtel XStream Set Top Box for an enhanced viewing experience thus again giving them advantage of not subscribing to HD channel and watch Star Sports 4K for free.

Remember Airtel XStream Boxes support RPD system which means it can measure viewership of all channels so Star Sports will publish all the data that how much ratings it is getting from various audience segments thereby attracting advertisers towards it. Also satellite broadcast is always reliable option to watch content specially it requires more bandwidth / good consistent speed , i am sure Star Sports 4K will be a success and offer better streaming quality than Jio Cinema for IPL

Only strategy to bring back cord cutters ia removing sports from broadband bundles and Star not renewing their contract with Jio for India's home matches. Than it will become expensive to stream sports. Imagine having to pay ₹500 over ₹200 on TV. This is why JioCinema is free. Other than these stream delay or lag doesn't expect most broadband users.
