Members here talking about few seconds lag between Ott & DTH (Satellite tv) But you may find lag of few seconds between transmission two DTH Companies, infact we had two tata sky connection & one connection was few seconds ahead of other one.

That is because of different STB models used

If it was same STB then there would have been no lags if I am not wrong

Infact I have two HD model one T52 model (pic below) and other New Tata Play HD box (pic 2 ). And on Welcome page sometimes two different programs runs at same time.
Few days back my 1st box was showing 'Special for Women's on EPG 100 (Welcome Page) and at same time my new box was showing 'Tata Play Cashback offer's program.

This is what I observed in Jio Cinema vs Sports18 1 HD during FIFa.

Remember now they are announced 50 Fps for IPL, high possibility of 50 sec to 2 minutes Delay airing from slow motion. Maybe broadcaster take this one advantage this time against Streaming platform.

I know it's getting off topic from what exactly this thread is about but still HOTSTAR is also Streaming ongoing India Vs Australia Test series 30-40 seconds late as compared to LiveTV (noticed on Star Sports 1 Hindi from ADTV).

I think it primarily depends on coaxial cable length. i.e distance between LNB and STB. More distance might cause delay.

Yes could be

But what I experienced was I had two different models of stb namely the Humax T51 and Technicolor STB

There was a delay of few seconds between the two stbs May be due to the hardware

This is a regular and common thing. When a live event is uplinked then broadcasters receive the same or in other cases broadcasters themselves uplink in house programs from their broadcast station to their satellite and then operators downkink the same and uplink it to their satellite and finally it is received by us.

Time taken for the same may differ by a few seconds on different DTH / Cable TV Platforms bcoz of variety of reasons. As far as two boxes of same operators having few seconds difference in transmission that may occur depending on time taken by various STB models to process the signals. All in all there would just milliseconds to 1 or 2 seconds in amy of the above mentioned scenarios.

DVB S2 transmission will be faster than DVB S and this is just one factor there r multiple factors which cause transmission to be faster or slower by 1 or 2 seconds on different platforms.

Bcoz Tata Play has different segmented Home Channels (Channel 100) hence u would have been getting different home channels on both ur HD boxes. Check the bouquet ID which is mentioned in "system details" option which is listed under system settings on STB Menu. It would be different for both ur boxes.

Such segmented home channels help the operator provide different alternatives for the advertiser to reach out different segment of customer / target audience in a proper manner. Even Channel 100 Gold / Platinum have different variants.

This has nothing to do with the topic of lag in transmission which was raised earlier
