But buddy linear channels are available via YouTube, YuppTV, Sony Liv, Zee5 and many similar apps. So you don't really need any device to watch satellite channels. This is for users who don't have wired internet seeking to watch something different on a weekend or users who are getting DTH service bundled with their telecom and internet plans.

Dada,,accessing TV Channels on apps is 1stly not easy, very mostly and it is difficult to toggle/manage different apps to watch favorite channels.

As i have said people r opting for smart / Android boxes of Different DTH / Cable Operators bcoz it offers conveniently, affordability , lot better viewing experience as compared to streaming channels online and alongside they can opt/watch their favorite content on OTT too

The parent feed of 4K channel will be in Cband.Tplay just downlik this feed and connect it to their binge servers. so the case will be between TPlay and Viacom

Star Sports has bought Satellite Rights in crores they can't stream IPL free on DD free dish.

(Writing in a polite way)- Arguing in many words doesn't mean bro you are right everytime. You think people are rude to you (as you stated in your reply to @Vadirocks ), everyone has their own opinion but from past few days if anybody explains differently or opposes your Words then you thinks you are right & others are wrong and than you AGAIN argue with a long paragraphs and tries to convince that only you are right and other's opinions are baseless.

That last paragraph made no sense. You are literally bundling a satellite channel with most expensive OTT plan you got to compete against OTT. It shouldn't be mandatory to buy some odd ₹349 plan to watch Star Sports 4K. They need to offer a standalone option to subscribe to this channel. They can charge ₹75 - ₹100. These bundles are useless to high end users who would seek for Star Sports 4K as they are already subscribed to most OTT platforms on top of that this doesn't carry the main two platform that are Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Star Sports 4K is not being provided as a service channel via satellite...it is being made available as an internet based service channel and thus bundled as part of Binge OTT pack offering . It is available alongside other internet based channels at LCN 2310. Basically bundling it with such an OTT pack helps reach out to target audience in more effective anf attractive manner, make them subscriber to this OTT pack which offers much more apps/content thereby benefiting customer as well as Operator / Broadcasters due to more ARPU generated.

Who knows maybe there is even some understanding reached between Jio Cinema and Star Sports wherein on DTH or Cable TV Android boxes Star Sports 4K would be made alongwith interactive features while IPL on Jio Cinema will be made available via all other devices including Smart TV's. Remember all these past years Star Sports provided Jio feed of their channels on exclusive basis all thru IPL so they have a long standing relationship. Already feed is being produced in HD ad both Jio , Star Sports will earn ad revenue from respective platforms while Star Sports may even earn subscription revenue if their channels are not provided free during IPL....so in a way thru such understanding both stand to gain by working together / complimenting each other at various levels. By having Star Sports 4K as a internet based channel Disney-Star will save money as they don't have to get licence from MIB for the same nor spend money for its satellite transmission and even get into revenue sharing pacts with operators as thru OTT pack bundling surely there will be revenue generated as large number of premium android box users will opt for these packs

Arre bhai this is a satellite based service channel. Not Internet based channel. If this was one. No one would pay ₹350 bundle to watch it. When they can just install JioCinema and watch IPL for free.
