In bengal Star jalsha is famous for Fiction shows and Zee Bangla famous for non fiction shows ....
SJ also tried heard for their non fiction property. Every Sunday night was dedicated for reality shows. But unfortunately they were unable to gain expected popularity. That's why they are totaly avoid non fiction shows now.

True. All the non-fiction shows of Jalsha (e.g., I Laugh You) have been failures. So there are only serials (and movies on some Sundays).

Zee Bangla is famous for fiction also. There are a number of serials which are mainly responsible for ratings. In any channel, the serials are watched more than reality shows (unless it is Bigg Boss).

Movies and serials are sun's strength. In the new market they have no movies.and its harder to compete zee in non fiction as well as fiction and Star jalsha in fiction.

Sun TV plans to foray into Bengali and Marathi entertainment space

The Tamil channel is expected to be launched in the festive season, but the Marathi channel may take longer, sources said. Analysts at brokerage Motilal Oswal say Sun’s foray into the Bengali entertainment genre, which has a market size of Rs7 billion, could cost the market Rs1.5 billion annually, translating into a 3-5 per cent loss in profit before tax. "However, it should expand Sun's target market and earnings growth potential," analysts said.

SunTV's Life Channels will be rebranded as 2nd GEC channels by September. Don't no whether they launch HD version too??
