It is a good news that SD channel has been replaced by HD but the question is if that HD channel is included in the package one is enjoying now.

For all those having query on HD version of VH1 and downscaling..

VH1 HD already started from channel side during June itself along with Comedy Central HD.

"VH1 HD & Comedy Central HD" Started on IS 20

Now all DTH operators are providing SD version of Comedy Central channel as a downscaled version of Comedy Central HD. In the same way, now they are started showing downscaled version of VH1 HD for its counterpart. It is not new for these two channels alone. We already have M Tunes HD. We earlier had Movies Now.

It indicates that they are going to discontinue SD feed permanently just like they did with Comedy Central. Nice move.

I think that is good because it allows for 16:9 SD feed. They should stop 4:3 SD broadcast and switch to 16:9 SD for all channels.
