The new remote has recording buttons. Does this mean that TS is planning to introduce recording with the new stb????

In Future USB recording would be launched thats why on remote the buttons are there

I don't think so that Tatasky will go for conversion soon as it would require lot of set up boxes to be replaced

And mpeg4 conversion took how much amount of time is evident to everyone

Yes, think the same. They have launched HECV Box to be future ready.
Slowly slowly they will phase out the old boxes. Like if people are buying new connection or any wants to replace their faulty box then Tata Sky will provide HECV Box. But they won't replace boxes for free like they did in 2015
