No, you can view 3d in hd stb also. plus hd has internal storage capacity to record and vod service. otherwise all features are same.

Just check mannual of your STB , if it is 3D ready or not.
As per tatasky website, 3D ready feature is shown with TS HD Plus only and not with TS HD Box.
