TLC to present reality series ‘Surviving the In-Laws’

Lifestyle channel TLC is all set to showcase a love and hate relationship through its new reality series ‘Surviving the In-Laws’. Premiering on 12 August, the show will air at 10 pm every Tuesday and will showcase the downside of some marriages. Discovery Communications India EVP and GM South Asia Rahul Johri said, “TLC continues to bring exciting and relatable experiences that entertain and enthrall the viewers. ‘Surviving the In-Laws’ is a refreshing concept series that tells the stories of couples and their in-laws through the lens of wit and wisdom.” The series is based on true stories, where the exasperated newlywed will disclose their feelings about the in-laws. In order to ‘protect the guilty’ in their truth-based vignettes about family woes, TLC has created this two-part series. The series revolves around couples and their in-laws, how they cope with each other. The presentations are peppered with enmity from both directions. The stories were compiled from interviews with real people, sharing authentic anecdotes about their relationship with their in-laws. Throughout the episodes, these stories are brought to life protecting the identities of the storytellers. Viewers will see how a mother-in-law wants to be the only woman in her son’s life and a couple feel their son is being corrupted by his grandparents.
