So both SCV & Arasu seem to have permission to transmit Analogue signal but how is VK Digital able to continue its Analogue signal in Chennai?

Now VK digital has removed both Vasanth Tv & Star Movies and moved Captain Tv and Sun Music in its place and the local channels Vista and Sakthi Tv have got the previous slots of Sun Music and Isai Aruvi.

Looks like we might easily cross this coming new year in Analogue as noone seems to care. VK keeps removing popular channels day by day and LCO's as usual busy collecting their monthly subscription alone and not seem to care about their MSO's service.

SCV & Arasu atleast seem to offer free STB, but VK keeps pushing for STB without even informing the public of their STB price so the LCO's are free to collect what ever they want.

Looks like Analogue in Chennai will continue for ever with strong LCO's support. Once people start to Migrate towards DTH, all these games played by these MSO's & LCO's will finally be over. To make use of the Analogue situation in TN, DTH has to offer Tamil only packs within Rs 150 pm/1,500 per year and Tamil + English + Sports packs at Rs 250 pm/Rs 2,500 per year.

But the DTH seems to serve only the Hindi speaking population and simply ignores the rest. For E.g. Just look at the image below for Tata Sky "SO CALLED" South Special Pack, i couldnt find even a single Tamil channel name or in that case a single Telugu, Malayalam or Kannada channel names. Its simple filled with tons of Hindi Channels names. Why would myself being a Tamilian subscribe to such a pack? Some here might say it clearly mentions "2 Free Regional Packs", and i would like to answer them, i dont want a service where i have to dig and keep digging for channels of my choice.

The mentioning of ""2 Free Regional Packs"" looks like paying for Curd rice and pickles in a Non Veg Hotel in-order to receive a free non veg dish of someone else choosing.

And now comes Airtel "SO CALLED" South Max, it again flaunts of Hindi channels to the South people and yes.... to my luck i find some Tamil channels at the very bottom along with some Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada channels.

May be these people think they are doing some CHARITY WORK.

@HOUSE-MD If you don't like then you can ignore those channels. Even after removing those channels, Tata Sky won't decrease the price of that pack. Tata Sky is not competing with cable TV, just like how Netflix is not competing with Amazon Prime Video. I can only afford Amazon Prime video so i pay for it, the same way people have the option to choose DTH/Cable. :k

There is a My99 pack with which we can take a paid regional add-on but in that also Hindi channels are there which you seem to 'dislike'. So boom, you are out of options :sad

Well, im not asking for any channel removal but why dont they simply showcase the southern channel names on the SO CALLED South Pack? I dont dislike anything, but just want them to list Southern Channels in a Southern Pack else dont call them so. And if i choose to ignore those channels then there is nothing left in those packs.

Hope we have a positive change in the near future. (y)

The thing is Tata Sky does not give regional channel in base pack except My99. They give the option to choose 2 free regional packs. So it's same for Tamil users, Marathi users, Bengali users etc.

Now coming to the naming of the pack then 'What's in a name ?' ;)

BTW subscribers from South of India should feel lucky, they get the option to choose South Pack in which sports channel are there @ low cost. ROI subscribers have to pay more for sports channels :(

@HOUSE-MD bro, I too feel the same.

DTH operators are too lazy to design special base packs separately for each language customers so they are doing this way :)

Whatever name it is going to be. At the end of the day we count no of channels available in the pack. With the kind of game lco is playing, customers are supposed to fight with them. In my opinion DTH are far better than lco. In Airtel just 99 you get all Tamil channels (self-care trick ), even less than analogue. There are lot of tricks available for free addition which is not with lco. Temporary disconnection is available. Likewise so many benefits in DTH which is not available in cable.

My current residence isnt suitable for DTH otherwise i would have gone long back to Airtel DTH as i already have land lines, broadband, mobile numbers etc with them so its easy to both pay and use it for tax purpose too. I hate LCO as their main objective is to LOOT and MSO is their LOOT TOOL.

Arasu said today... tomorrow... next day etc for STB delivery but still no trace of such STB's and Chennai has been cursed with Analogue. Hope atleast this new year bring Chennai people an affordable DAS.

But whatever unsuitable it is you can get DTH. You might have seen migrant workers from other states have DTH on top of their asbestos house in Chennai. That too unfixed and supported by bricks. Whenever they vacat, just like that they lift it and change to some other place. Try getting DTH and enjoy the benefits.
