SCV should educate subscribers by publicly showing pack cost under its INFO Channel so LCO's cant .
There is no more info Channel. Info Channel name is now**** and sun news plays. Sun news on two places. We worried about vk having republic on two slots now scv in digital has got sun news on two slots. TRAI is making a lot of money by not looking into all those matters.

Thats bad. May be MSO wantedly helping LCO's as subscribers are connected with MSO via LCO so simply if an MSO satisfies an LCO they get their business going. This is exactly why one LCO sells the HD pack at Rs 450 while another LCO is selling the same at Rs 350, so LCO is free to do as they please and MSO never questions them.

package lists has been removed from SCV website...

Excellent, so they might be doing something to match Arasu's pack.

Right now SCV has an excellent chance to take back Chennai due to the delay from Arasu to supply STB and convince LCO to even go analogue with Arasu.

If SCV can do the following immediately then they can easily get back Chennai, else it would be too late.
  1. Free SD STB.
  2. All SD tamil channels pack at Rs 150 incl of tax.
  3. All SD Tamil, Sports and English channels pack at Rs 200 incl of tax.
  4. All SD Tamil, Sports, English and other regional language channels pack at Rs 250 incl of tax.
  5. All Tamil, Sports and English SD & HD channels pack at Rs 300 incl of tax.
  6. All Tamil, Sports and English and other regional language channels SD & HD channels pack at Rs 300-350 incl of tax.

i believe , SCV and VK will shut down their service very soon. Once Arasu started in TN (out side chennai), all the Other MSO closed their business, Similarly, same will happen in chennnai in next 2-3 months.

Yes, there is a good chance. But i think due to the huge delay by Arasu SCV will do anything to keep retain its business by offering free STB, offering affordable HD packs and online payments and definetely some LCO's might get back to them atleast for time being.

But VK might vanish as they dont seem to be doing any real ground work which has left a very huge gap with subscribers and the MSO and their analogue is pathetic as it looks like given for some charity though subscribers are paying Rs 130, its hard if they dont understand "சிறு துளி பெரு வெள்ளம்! Little Drops of Water Make the Mighty Ocean!!".

Due to the arrogance, poor quality, over hike by LCO's and absence of online payment option has drived most local cable subscribers towards DTH. So unless these issues are addressed on a war-front its hard to stop this steady flow of subscribers towards DTH and very soon even the remaining subscribers (especially from Chennai and Suburban Chennai along the IT Corridor) will move to DTH that too if someone like JIO enters this market.

If Arasu wants to take over this huge money flowing market, then they have to enable subscribers to pay their subscription charges together with their EB payment and via Ration Shops & also via online payment system with Credit Card so they can pay at their own convenience and dont have to wait for the collection man to visit their homes. LCO can visit for technical issues upon subscribers request.

Also they have to use the optic-fiber system and enhance quality on par with DTH. Make HD channels available with best quality.

MIB asks Arasu: Give proof of analogue switch-off

NEW DELHI: The Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation (TACTV), which had early this month claimed to have gone digital, has been asked to “confirm that you have already switched off analogue signals and are carrying only digital encrypted signals on your cable TV network.” In a letter to TACTV despatched late in the evening yesterday, the state-owned multi-system operator (Arasu) was told to reply within 10 days of issuance of the letter, “failing which your registration is likely to be suspended/revoked.”...

MIB seeks compliance report from Arasu on digitisation:

“Vide letter of even number dated 17.04.2017, the Ministry had granted provisional MSO registration to TACTV to provide cable TV network services with digital addressable system in the Tamil Nadu state with the condition that you will switch over to digital TV within 3 months, failing which your registration is likely to be suspended/revoked. Thereafter, as per request received from the Tamil Nadu state govt, a one-month extension, i.e. up to 17.08.2017, was granted to switch over to digital,” undersecretary to the government of India Anil Kumar said in a letter to Arasu. “Since the date for TACTV to switch over to digital cable service in the state of Tamil Nadu is already over, you are directed to confirm that you have already switched off analogue signals and are carrying only digital encrypted signals on your cable TV network. Your reply must reach the Ministry within 10 days of the issuance of this letter, failing which your registration is likely to be suspended/revoked.”

That won't be the case - There are around 30,000 LCO in TN and they are in business to maintain the last mile operation. Any MSO including Arasu won't be ready to take the operation(last mile maintenance) in their hand. In that case, the End user depends on LCOs and LCOs depends on the MSO who facilitate their income. Although Arasu has huge LCO support in Analog, it won't be the case in Digital. In digital world there is always a control mechanism and LCO won't prefer the option of direct control of End-user. Hence the industry will include all players like SCV, VK, TCCL etc., while some hike can be seen in DTH subscribers...

Yes, i can see that. LCO's are already opposing Arasu's app for online payment because they want to control end-user relationships but LCO's cant even afford to signup with multiple MSO's and offer what people demand. LCO's cant have both the ways. At the end end user will will and LCO's will go extinct due to lack of upgrading to the latest scenario.

The same way the small vegetable shops all aroud the corner vanished and were replaced by vegetable supermarkets the LCO's too will vanish due to their arrogance and unwillingness to upgrade and chance to todays time.

Since this service is being undertaken by Arasu cable, all the areas of Tamil Nadu will be connected via FibreNet.

Already Arasu has tieup with both Railtel & BSNL so almost all area headquarters are already connected, TN govt's 1st tender has already covered all the districts and last year a second tender was put out to cover all taluks so it seems already the infrastructure is in place and only the connectivity work has to be done.

Once connected Arasu cable (via Tamil Nadu FibreNet Corporation) will use the FibreNet to carry both cable tv and internet signals, the triple play set top box as given in the tender that was passed earlier will be provided via this available fund. Seems Arasu Cable's future is super bright atleast outside Chennai as both the funds and infrastructure are already available.

For Chennai only Arasu can clarify as there is absolutely no clarity on they info on future of Arasu in Chennai.
