Trai has said that an otherwise pay channel available for free on DD Free Dish, the direct-to-home platform owned by public broadcaster Prasar Bharati, must be declared free-to-air on other distribution platforms (such as Tata Play, Dish TV etc.) as well, so as to ensure a level-playing field.

But according to media reports, broadcasters can easily get a stay from the court on this order of TRAI because DD Free Dish is not under the rules of TRAI. But I think TRAI will say that we ordered to Broadcasters and not to DD Free Dish.
But the broadcasters have not even filed any case yet, I think the case will be filed about 40-50 days before the implementation of this order so that they can get a stay at least once due to the hearing in the court.
