These details are useful for tuning STBs to scan channels after adjusting your satellite dish to 88*E ST2 satellite (used by d2h). If you already have d2h connection your dish and STB are already configured to receive channels from these transponders. These details are useful for people hunting for Free-to-air channels on different satellites or people trying to configure their dish to catch signal from multiple satellites etc.
If your dish is properly installed and you are getting all D2h channels, you need not worry about these transponder details. These are useful for only those ppl who have interest in and knowledge of satellite technology. If you are a novice in satellite technology just ignore these details.
As I mentioned in my previous post, these details are not of interest to a normal d2h user. These details are already stored inside the STB for when a channel scan is done the channels are searched on these TPs.
In simple words, each TP broadcasts between 40-50 channels. So with 8 tps d2h is able to provide 458 channels and services as of now.
If you want to see these details you need to goto Settings > Installation (Installation Code 1234) > Box Settings > Satellite Management (Code: 4th 6th 8th 10th digits of your smart card number)
There you can see the details. If you delete any tp by mistake you can use this thread to add it back.
Previously, d2h STB used to allow adding of other tps (provided the dish can catch them) so you can scan and get extra Free to air channels. But now the boxes are locked. So even if you add new tps they do not work. Only the current 8 d2h tps work. If the news is true d2h may add two more tps for adding more channels.
