Every year June 5 is celebrated as the 'World Environment Day', to raise global awareness of the need to take positive environmental action. It is run by the United Nations environment programme (UNEP). Actor Vijay is the Brand Ambassador for the world environment day celebration and will be the guest of honour. Over 1000 people including students and corporate gouses are participating in the events.
This year Youth Exnora international and US Consulate General have planned to celebrate it not just for a day, but for a whole week. It is going to be a one week campaign as 'V GO GREEN' in Chennai, from June 3rd to 9th. Fashion shows, cycle rally, lake restoration, green auto, conference and award shows are on the cards.
