Vijay’s ‘Thalaivaa’ released on August 9th and it has been creating new box office records all over the world. Check out Thalaiva UK Box Office Report : The movie has collected around Rs 77.88 lakh until Saturday including the preview shows on Thursday. The movie has also taken a bumper opening in USA and other countries too.
The movie is also running to packed houses in other states across India. The fans are eagerly waiting for the movie to release in Tamil Nadu. The buzz is that Vijay might meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister soon and discuss the issue with her.

It is not unusual for fans to wait for their favourite hero’s movie. But, Vijay’s ‘Thalaiva’ has even made Indian ace spinner Ashwin Ravichandran wait for it. He had recently posted on his micro-blogging account ‘Any idea when the movie is releasing in Chennai? #thalaiva’
Ashwin’s curiosity in understandable as the movie has created huge buzz on the social networking sites due to the controversies involved. While the movie released worldwide on August 9th, it is yet to release in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, there is no official confirmation yet if the movie would on August 15th or August 16th.
Adding to the woes that Thalaiva is already facing, theater owners of Tamil Nadu have decided to withdraw the minimum gurantee for the movie as the pritated DVDs, Thalaiva movie torrent and illegal downloads are happening at a full swing. The outcome of this meeting had hurt the producer and distributors even more as the theater owners are willing to work only on a profit sharing basis. Unofficial reports says that the movie had already incurred a 25 crore loss in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry region.
Meanwhile, Vijay fans are working round the clock to stop the piracy and they are catching hold of people who are selling the pirated DVD’s across Tamil Nadu. It is to be noted that Vijay has requested the Chief Minister to curb the piracy of Thalaiva and has seeked CM’s intervention to solve the issue as early as possible.
