What are the eligibility airtel is talking while giving few chs free ?

This has become the norm now.
We saw Dish TV moving all Sony Ten channels out of base pack due to India Tour of South Africa.
Now we see ADTV moving all Star Network channels out of base pack as we near IPL.

I know ther are other implications, and reasons beyond the subscriber's control. However, we as subscribers should not be entangled in such battles. Sadly, we do not have strong consumer protection rights. Services providers go to the extent of saying that out of "X" channels in your base pack, "Y" were actually being given to you for free, so we may remove them anytime. Although this is in writing, we are unable to take any action on it.

So, as IPL nears, we see removal of the channels that carry IPL.
Hope they reach on an agreement soon.

it's clear, you must be already getting the SD channel through your base pack, then you are eligible to get the same free, but no such provision for HD channels...

Yes, on channel no. 120, few of the channels are mentioned as "Free for eligible subscribers".

Star is spending huge amount to grab sport broadcast rights. Way more than they should. And to recover the money,they are making people suffer. One by one their chanels are getting removed from cable/dth platforms. Their bad decision may hit them back,badly,very badly. Sooner or later..

Not only star but also Sony, Don't forget Sony's bid was more than 11,000 crore only for India TV right, and star's bid was 16,000 crore for global TV+digital. Facebook bid was 3900 crore for digital so by paying only 1000 core only star got global tv+digital. So i don't see how it is way more than what Sony+facebook bid

Yes. If currently you are getting Star SD channels in your Base packs or through add-on.

I doubt bro, you will be eligible if you are getting through add-on or top up packs...
