@Sarkar bro one question they removed channels from base packages. But what about Addons. We have HD add on.Are this channels also removed from Add ons?

IF both party sign ROI agreement then ch will only be offered as a -la -carte, no addon and no basepack. The cable/dTH will pay broadcaster on per STB basis on which ch is subscribed

Last time when Airtel removed UTV channels they added some FTA movie Channels in place of that.. I don't know what will they do after removing star plus.. but I think they will sort this asap because star plus is must for daily soap, saas bahu serial viewers

Gobinath bro, Are they not adding new channels due to this, may be they are waiting for it as star channels will be removed from base pack and then will add new channels as they will be replacement for star channels.

As I find no other reason for D sports addition as they are testing it for last 3-4 days, and airtel doesn't takes so much for testing

same thing happened between videocon and sony ten channels. why are they removing star channels from base packs ?

This situation arises when there is a disagreement between cable/DTH with broadcaster over how many subscriber watch a ch. In bouquet system broadcaster sells ch at a fixed value say 30 crore, now if DTH/cable pay 30 crore then they are free to distribute to as many subscribers as they want whether 2% or 100% of their subscribers by combining with other chs of different broadcaster. Broadcaster cannot know how many people actually watch from this because distributer don't allow or under report subscription.(See Siti cable vs star dispute case Few Star channels have takers: SitiCable - Times of India )

Now if broadcaster thinks that their ch is very popular so hiked fee but distributer thinks that only few people actually watches those then comes dispute and to solve that broadcaster then offer ch on ROI basis(let's say Rs 25 per STB) and distributor pay according to subscribed STB basis instead of package. and here broadcaster actually know how many people subscribed their ch.
