Zee sold Ten sports to Sony when they failed to manage Sports buisness. After years the financial struggle affected the whole company. So that they seek the hand of Sony. Now Zee has bought a major sports event from another. Most probably the payment to Star is high as Star bought it for a record price. While Zee's future companion who has better financial backup is spending money very cautiously, they are doing the opposite. I don't understand 🤌. Did Zee had done this with Sony's knowledge?

Disney Star exclusive Agreement with Zee only, they can air on Zee Network any channel and Not possible on Sony sports, because that's against their Agreement.
Even though the financial details of the deals are under wraps, speculation is rife that ZEEL would have committed anywhere between $1.5 billion and $1.8 billion for the TV rights. The deal, which will come into effect in 2024, is likely to be funded through the cash infusion that will come from Sony Corp post the merger with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), industry sources say.

This is what even I have a doubt about. How come the deal explicitly mentions Zee and not Sony? It appears that Zee will have the controlling rights to some or all of Sony’s existing sports channels after the merger. There are further ownership issues at play, even when not considering the merger.

Whatever Sony not interested much on Cricket Media Rights, apart from ECB Rights Sony don't have any other Cricket Rights for Next 5 years.

What if paramount or Disney buys Sony 😃😆
Sony boss already said that sony pictures is not for sale. On top of that there is an initiative called 'One Sony' under which all sony units will come under one umbrella. And those who are thinking disney will buy sony, they are just dreaming, disney first needs to recover that 71 billion dollar investment on fox. Disney is not in a situation to buy anything. Disney is looking for ip for disney plus. Paramount is dealing with internal leadership issues.

except legend league, All other Rights till 2023 first half.
So don't u think they will renew their existing rights as Star is not interested in Pakistan rights nor PSL so Sony will easily get back it's rights.
