This is what even I have a doubt about. How come the deal explicitly mentions Zee and not Sony? It appears that Zee will have the controlling rights to some or all of Sony’s existing sports channels after the merger. There are further ownership issues at play, even when not considering the merger.

Not sure what the regulations are in India. Discovery could've easily gut the CNN+ launch but they did it after the merger was complete because of FCC rules.

Likewise, i don't think they can address Sony or announce the plans of merged entity until the merger is completed.
