Thats what my question! Why Tata Sky is showing MTunes in actual perfect ratio but not showing other downgraded HD channels in actual ratio.

intrinsicreality's reply makes sense to me. If its broadcaster which decides what aspect ratio DTH service providers should use to show their channel, then MTunes might have asked TS to show their channel in actual ratio. On the other hand, Movies NOW, History TV18, etc have asked DTH service providers to show their downgraded SD feeds in 4:3 ratio.

Why Dish TV is showing all downgraded HD channels in actual aspect ratio, is still unanswered and mystery.

Do you mean Upscaling or downscaling ?

^^ Downscaling an actual HD channel into SD channel. Many DTH operators are showing downscaled HD channels such as History TV 18, MTunes in SD format.

OK but what do you mean by dishtv's downscaling to actual aspect ratio ? :huh

^^ Dish TV is showing all downscaled HD channels (SD feeds) such as History TV 18, MTunes, Movies NOW, HBO Defined and Hits, etc in actual ration i.e. 16:9 so you'll not get black bars on top and bottom in those SD feeds.

AFAIK I know dishtv having separate HD feeds of the above mention channels :huh

Experts please shed some light on this :u

^^ Yes but I'm talking about their SD feeds. Dish TV is showing all those channels in HD as well as downscaled SD format.
