Agree or skip reading but TRAI has destroyed the DTH/Cable operators (C.O) after 1 February 2019 by introducing this new rule.
Burden is all on Private DTH & C.O, there is no loss of broadcasters as they are getting benefitted from this.

We have seen & are continuing seen the downtrend of numbers of people using DTH services in India.

Broadcasters still have their respective OTT apps for the shows & that too comes up with a subscription amount but DTH operators have no other option then to give offers by taking loss.

We have seen Tata Play have launched Cashback offer, offering free connection.

DishTV | D2h , Airtel & SunDirect launching FTA box just to attract customers.

Tata Play (being in loss) is giving All Hindi Shows / All Hindi Sports / All infotainment / All Kids channels for just 1/- for 30 days in Jingalala offers. (Respect++ 🫡)

and All these just to survive....

Honestly I was happy when TRAI set the limit to 19/- for a-la-carte channels & I thought I would get more channels then my Tata Sky Dhamaka (220) pack but now I feels Tata Sky was giving me many channels in 220.

TRAI is showing no mercy on DTH operators & Consumers.

Why DTH operators are not taking TRAI to court asking them what they have achieved from this new rule??
 
even broadcasters are equally to be blamed for price increase.... broadcasters are dishing out crap shows and asking customers too pay for its channels... Star plus has completely stopped reality shows where cost is high you get celebrity judges, big sets but what they are showing is 7 days of useless shows with more or less same story line. Sony tv has completely stopped daily shows and have shows on weekends and for that they are charging Rs 19.... JioStar have many movies and entertainment channels of which they can shut down many and save cost and give better options too users, price rise suits only Sports channels as big money is invested to purchase rights but other than that if channel list is trimmed down and channels revert back to original programming 5 days a week price cost can be reduced and it can be less burden for TV audience

But star plus daily shows are giving them huge trps star plus knows what their target audience wants

but pricing of Rs 25 plus GST doesn't justify that.... and with price increase almost every year people will shift to other channel as Star plus shows are no different to other channels once Sony tv or any other GEC Starts variety shows Star plus channel will surely go down
 
Here main issue is TRAI controls TV, but not controls OTT with same contents:D, so viewers searches for better content in youtube and OTT as they have already paid for mobile or wifi.
 
Yeah, I previously wrote also. Earlier, we were paying a price for all channels. After TRAI rule, we are paying the same price for only a few channels.

Few months back star plus hd rs 19+ gst star plus sd 19+ gst why they kept same price for sd and hd they have to give sd channels in below 15rs or to maximum 15rs keeping same price for HD and Sd is unfair but now it's opposite hd price increasing every year but in other networks like zee and sony still giving most of the hd and Sd channels price at same cost trai needs to take action ...trai literally killed indian television industry
