The unethical practices and the over involvement of Goenka apart from his role costed the merger with Sony.

Instead of merger, Sony should forcefully acquire the shares of other stakeholders similar to how adani did to ndtv.
If Sony invested huge money for stakes in Zee, then they have no money for good content and sports rights.

'Withdraw my consent to...' - Zee Entertainment Enterprises CEO Punit Goenka resigns as MD - Read letter
In a letter, Goenka said, "I hereby tender my resignation from the office of Managing Director of the Company with immediate effect to entirely focus on my operational responsibilities. Accordingly, I withdraw my consent to be re-appointed as a Managing Director Key Managerial Personnel of the Company proposed in the Notice of the ensuing Annual General Meeting of the Company scheduled to be held on November 28, 2024."

Same i thought

Bro Sony international will invest not Sony India , Sony India will have cash balance
Any Sony, but now so much amount to acquisition of another company will not good in current broadcasting industry as Pay TV users are decreasing day by day. Otherwise they will invest in content, then it helps for their channels and OTT. Even cash rich Ambani interested for merger with Disney Star with investment of 11,500 cr in content, not acquisition.

If this goes on ZEEL may soon face bankruptcy. Let me tell you that I'm not a fortune teller, but the way things are shaping up at ZEEL after the failed merger with CME (Sony/Culver Max), there will be two situations : 1. Bankruptcy, which is least expected to happen although the current situation of the company is slowly leading it to that path. Another situation is : Hostile Takeover by an Indian/Foreign Company which is an inevitable situation. If ZEEL faces hostile takeover, it would be better if an Indian company (preferably having experience in Cable and Broadband services) takes it over. If a foreign company like Comcast takes it over, it will no longer be an Indian brand, rather it will be run by the heads and bosses of that foreign company and the current executives will have no say over it.

As per very incredible sources K Madhavan will join Zee as head.
There was some news that a CEO known for his Midas touch is planning to take over the control of a large media company with the help of a venture firm.

(Usually, the media address K Madhavan as a CEO with a Midas touch)

I wish Comcast, Fox Corporation or Warner Bros Discovery takes over ZEEL than Sony or anyone else
