Dish TV owned DTH operator d2h has planned migration of its Non-South customers to Dish TV’s SES8 satellite. It will be done in phases and eligible customers requesting for a technician visit will also have to get their antenna realigned towards the SES8 satellite.
According to the company’s internal communications accessed by DreamDTH, this process is set to begin from 30th November 2021 with three states- Odisha, Bihar, Jharkhand and in the upcoming weeks it will be expanded across the country.
The company is making this move in order to provide more Non-South channels to its users who don’t watch South Indian content. Dish TV’s SES8 satellite has more Non-South channels compared to d2h’s ST2 satellite.
Who is Eligible?
All active d2h customers with North language Zone packaging are eligible for this realignment. The antenna of such users will be realigned to SES8 when they raise a complaint regarding a technical or defective product, request conversion or reinstallation and an engineer visit is scheduled.
Technician visit charge of Rs 200 will be applicable if the box is not under warranty period. This realignment won’t be done in case of Multi TV users, Hotel (Corporate) customers, subscribers with Diamond Kids combo and South Language Zone packages.
