Digiana gets MIB nod to launch ‘News World’

The channel which has been granted the TV license under ‘NEWS’ category is likely to operate on GSAT-30 with Indiasign as the teleport operator.

Digiana Industries has got the nod from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) to operate a satellite TV channel under the banner of ‘News World’. The Ministry granted the Indore based company the TV license earlier this month.

The channel which has been granted the TV license under ‘NEWS’ category is likely to operate on GSAT-30 with Indiasign as the teleport operator. The license was granted by the Ministry on 1st December 2020 with the company allowed to broadcast in English, Hindi, and scheduled Indian languages. The TV license will be valid for a period of 10 years.

The number of permitted satellite TV channels in the country has reached 919 at the end of November 2020 according to the database of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The Ministry recently gave the nod to KCP Engineers to launch Update News, Update Kids, Update TV, and Update Music apart from new TV licenses for CTVN AKD Rastrio and Sanskriti 24*7.
