Tata Sky
Tata Sky has added 8 new satellite channels which include DD Panini, DD Sharda, DD Kishore Manch, DD Retro, BBC Cbeebies, Eurosport HD, Zee Biskope, and 1Sports.
4 Doordarshan educational channels DD Panini, DD Sharda, DD Kishore Manch, and DD Gyan Darshan are clubbed at a single channel number of 756. The DPO has discontinued 3 channels: Indology (Shopping), Sarthi TV (Devotional), and FM News (Hindi News).
Airtel Digital TV
Airtel Digital TV (ADTV) has added 8 satellite channels and 1 service channel this month while 1 channel was dropped by the DTH operator. Airtel Toons, Love World, DD Retro, Eurosport HD, Zee Biskope, DD Shimla, DD Kishore Manch, DD Sharda and DD Panini are the channels added while shopping channel Indology has been discontinued.
Airtel Toons is a new platform service channel launched by ADTV on LCN 450, it’s a kids channel and Airtel provided it under free preview till 30th April to everyone. Apart from channel additions and removals, the DPO added 2 FTA channels DD Yadagiri and DD Imphal in all base packs.
Dish TV & d2h
Dish TV added the least number of channels in April, DD Gyan Darshan was the only channel launched on this platform while 2 music channels E24 and Sangeet Marathi were discontinued.
Dish TV in April announced that it will provide a validity extension for those who are not able to recharge their Dish TV account on giving a missed call to 1800-274-9050.
d2h added total 7 satellite channels on its platform which consists of DD Gyan Darshan, DD Kishore Manch, DD Sharda, DD Panini, Shemaroo Marathibana and DD Retro. 3 satellite channels- Maha Movie, Sangeet Marathi, E24 are also removed by d2h.
d2h introduced a Rs 100 price cut in its new Digital SD and Digital HD connection, now HD connection is being sold at Rs 1,599 and price of SD set-top box is Rs 1,499. d2h combo packs are also revamped with the launch of 20 new packages.
Sun Direct
Sun Direct has added 5 channels and removed 1 channel. DD Kishore Manch, DD Sharda, DD Panini, ABP Ganga and DD Retro are the newly added channels while Abzy Cool has been dropped by the operator.
Sun Direct is offering some paid channels for free till 31st May because of COVID-19 crisis. It has added 11 paid channels namely Pogo, Cartoon Network, WB, HBO, CNN, Times Now, Movies Now, MNX, Romedy Now, Sony Pix and Eurosport in all DPO 1 packs. For customers on DPO 2 pack, the operator is providing Star Movies and Hungama for free.
DD Free Dish
Free-to-air satellite television provider DD Free Dish has added the highest number of channels compared to other operators. 10 channels including Sudarshan News, Sanskar, Aastha, Surya Bhojpuri, BDM Bhojpuri, Blue Cinema, 9X Jalwa, Filamchi, Lord Buddha TV and DD Retro are added on this free platform.
