Tata Sky
Tata Sky added 5 SD channels on its platform that includes 3 satellite channels- Jan TV, Prime News, Tehzeeb TV, and 2 platform services namely- Tata Sky Astro Duniya and Tata Sky Malayalam Cinema. The company also strengthened its Tata Sky Music service with the launch of a new regional channel called Haryanvi Hits. Bhaskar News and Enterr10 are the 2 channels dropped by the operator.
Tata Sky Astro Duniya as the name suggests is an astrology and horoscope related channel launched in association with Dominiche Productions that will offer curated content from celebrity astrologers and give access to the world of astrology, numerology, Vastu, tarot reading, palmistry, face reading, and more. Astrologers on this platform can also be contacted via call or chat. The price for this service is Rs 2 per day or Rs 60 per month.
Tata Sky Malayalam Cinema is launched in partnership with Star India’s Asianet to showcase the biggest blockbusters of Mollywood with exclusive movie premieres before television. It is priced at Rs 1.5 per day or Rs 45 per month.
The operator also made Tata Sky Classroom free of cost to all customers, this service powered by Tata ClassEdge was launched in 2016 at a price of Rs 99 per month. Some pack changes took place as well with discontinuation of 11 curated packages, customers of these plans were migrated to a ‘near-fit’ plan that offers a few additional channels at a slightly higher cost.
Airtel Digital TV
Airtel Digital TV added 2 channels namely Music Zone and Rishtey Cineplex while 4 channels- Dil Punjabi, TV 100, R9, Power TV, and B4U Movies were removed from this platform.
Dish TV & d2h
Dish TV only worked on strengthening Dish SMRT Hub and D2H Stream Android set-top boxes offering. It has added Hungama Play and EPIC ON in the app zone of these STBs. Customers need to separately subscribe to these services in order to access their library.
Sun Direct
Sun Direct too was mostly inactive, only a few pack modifications took place on this platform. The operator has added Sony Pal in Bengali DPO 1 pack, in all DPO 1 packs Discovery Science, Discovery Turbo, Discovery Kids & Investigation Discovery are added while in Kannada DPO 1 pack Discovery Kids, Sony WAH and Sony Max 2 are added.
DD Free Dish
Hindi Movie channels Star Utsav Movies and Sony Wah returned to DD free dish last month, along with IN10 Media’s Bhojpuri Movie channel Filmachi. All of these channels won slots in the 50th E-Auction for the period from 29th December 2020 to 31st March 2021. Apart from TV channels, AIR Port Blair radio station is also added on DDFD.
